Once a website has been entered into the database, it will become active within one hour, assumming a DNS (Domain Name Server) entry exists. DNS entries exist for all subdomains by default, so you can easily and quickly add things like http://sub.domain.com/ for your site. To host a website with Tidy Design Portsmouth that you purchased with another company you will need to transfer the DNS (Domain Name Server) to the following:
ns0.gradwell.com
ns1.gradwell.net
ns2.gradwell.net
If you have to supply the IP's then please email
To transfer your website domain to Tidy Design Portsmouth please login to your control panel and change the IPS Tag to 'GRADWELL' all upper case. Again if you come across any problems please email
Secondary DNS is the name given to the server or service that mirrors the authoritative information for a domain. The Secondary DNS servers are usually listed after the Primary DNS when registering a domain. Secondary DNS servers are set up to mirror the details of a domain from its primary server. This will keep the secondary up to date by issuing notifications to the secondary servers if a change is made. To maintain availability, Gradwell DNS servers are distributed on 3 seperate networks, 2 in the UK and 1 in the US. This helps to provides a good balance of availability and performance. The Secondary DNS servers for a domain hosted with us are ns0.gradwell.com, ns1.gradwell.net and ns2.gradwell.net. ns0 and ns1 are in London. ns2 in the US.
Through our secondary DNS product we can also provide secondary DNS service for your domains. you simply enter the domains in the appropriate part of the control panel and then enable zone transfers to your server from our secondary servers. Within a few hours we will pick up the domain name information and begin providing a secondary DNS service. Every hour, we will query your server to determine if you have incremented the serial number on your zone. If you have, we will re-transfer the zone. We ignore DNS NOTIFY requests. If we are unable to correctly transfer the data from your server, we will send you an email to advise. We will retry in approximately one hour's time and keep retrying at hourly intervals. If we have old data stored then we will keep on serving that data until we can get new data.
